OK- a bit of a warning (and I have been told this before) venturing into using CVS Extra Care Bucks (ECB’s) is not for the faint of heart. There is a definite learning curve and then you get into the store and feel pretty overwhelmed.
But it is worth it, so I encourage you to press on.
My recommendation- take a buddy. Your mom, your sister, your bff, your hubby (if you can drag him..) whoever. This way one person can be a calculator and coupon organizer and the other can be the “runner” and get the actual products. If nothing else, it’s great moral support.
My first time I came out of the store with a huge headache.
But it is worth it.. and it gets easier as you do it more often. To really learn what the CVS Extra Care Buck System is all about I really recommend you check out Money Saving Mom’s CVS 101, if you do not already know.
Anyway here is the booty I walked away with.
3 Bottles of Pantene- 3 for $10 (received $3 in ECB’s)
2 Bottles of Dawn dish detergent- 2 for $3 (received $1 in ECB’s)
2 CVS 40ct bandages- $1.99 each (received $3.98 in ECB’s)
2 bottles of Smart Rinse- $3.49 each (received $6.98 in ECB’s)
Subtotal- $23.96
coupons- $2.25 in coupons for the Dawn and Smart Rinse from Sunday Papers
Plus a $4 off any $20 purchase at CVS for signing up for their emails (you can get that here)
So the total with tax for my first CVS purchase was- $18.18
ECB total- 14.95 to spend on what ever I wanted at CVS
So what did I do with the ECB’s?
I spent them on more stuff that gave me more ECB’s. The next trip I walked out with $15.51 worth of stuff and $15.47 worth of more ECB’s.
and the cycle continues…
ps- another rec, make sure you scan your Extra Care Card at the store before you start shopping. I received an extra $3 off a $10 CVS Brand Purchase today.
happy saving,
-j
