When I was in high school, I had a flat chest. Ugh. I felt like a little girl and the guys didn’t see me. The summer between my junior and senior year, for some reason, my body decided to play catch up. They ached and hurt but I grew 2 cup sizes in 3 months. When I went back to school for the first day of my senior year, WOW! All the guys were doing double takes! I finally felt like I belonged and I enjoyed watching all the guys make fools of themselves cranking their necks around looking at me. It made me laugh and it set the stage for a hilarious and fun senior year telling all the guys no!
Now they just hang low. :( , What I wouldn’t give for a flat chest now!

Favorite summer memory- all the neigborhood kids riding their bikes to the neighborhood pool and swimming, hanging out, and bothering the lifeguard all day. I later became that lifeguard!

My favorite summer memory is when I found out I was pregnant and the baby due Christmas Day. I was not to become pregnant due to a heart condition. She was born on that day, and a true miracle took place. She is my only child.

i already get your emails :)

and my favourite summer memories? wow. i don’t think i can choose just one. i loved the odd trips we went on, shopping for back to school supplies, and spending all day in the pool. the last day of the schoolyear was always so sad for me, i kept hoping for year-round-school schedules. we never needed more than a 2 week break from classes! any more than that and you just get lazy and forget things. i’ve always been strange. :P

My favorite summer memory is going to see “TEXAS” in the ampi-theater in Palo Duro Canyon, TX. What great talent these young college students have that put on the program. One knows that they had to spend hours and hours of practice to pull off such a magnificent performance.

A favorite summer memory is camping on East Beach in Galveston. We had a van and would pile in our three girls, stop at Krogers (of course!) to pick up hot dogs, charcoal, soda etc and head down to Galveston. We camped down there. The girls had a tent while we slept in the van. Spent many weekends falling asleep & waking up to the sound of the surf & the gulls calling. Bliss!
I am registered and have a Krogers card.
Thanks!

204 sarah pace August 22, 2010 at 6:50 pm

My favorite summer memory is watching my mother get all the garden vegetables and fruit ready for freezing and canning.

205 Michelle M. August 22, 2010 at 8:49 pm

I’m signing up for your emails.

My favorite Summer memories revolve around spending time at my Grandmother’s farm. She taught me how to cook using fresh veggies and how to can and freeze produce. She taught me how to pet (yes, pet) honey bees and catch lightening bugs. She also taught me to always bring the salt shaker out to the garden, because you never knew when a watermelon might “accidentally” bust, or when a tomato might be so ripe that it “needed eatin’ right away!”

206 Rose Clark August 22, 2010 at 9:43 pm

My favorite summer memory was camping with my parents and sister and brother. We went to a place in Canada one summer and everyone was catching fish but me. So my dad told everyone to pull in their reels but me and see if I could get a fish. Finally one bit the bait and I was so excited that I almost baptized us in the lake !!!

207 Mari August 22, 2010 at 11:13 pm

Thanks for the giveaway. My favorite childhood memory from the summer is going bike riding all day and not coming home at all except to check in and then for supper.

208 Linda March 2, 2011 at 11:10 am

My favorite summer memories are all wrapped up with my grandparents. I spent a lot of time with them every summer, helping my Grandfather in his garden ( he wouldn’t let anyone help him but me) and then helping my Grandmother, who was crippled with arthritis, can and bake. She always told me she couldn’t do the things she did without my help. As a child, they made me feel I was the most important person in the world. As I have grown, I realize they were doing what grandparents do, make over your grandchildren, loving them and making them feel special. I thought that for so long. Now, I have 5 grandchildren of my own, and I am trying to pass along all those good feelings that my grandparents gave to me, to them. My husband and I have a garden and everytime I go out to work in the garden, I remember them and the wonderful time I had with my grandparents.
