Going cash only can save you somewhere between $10-54.79 ($50ish) a month!
Today’s frugal tip can be a bit of a hard one for many families these days. Credit cards are readily available and most of us have several. I know there has been some difficulty for us and we are not there yet, but getting there.
Use cash only for your purchases. At the beginning of the month map out your estimated expenses and organize your cash into groups, like gas, groceries, eating out.. what ever you spend your money on.
By doing this it makes you more accountable to only spend what you have and you may be likely to think twice about buying when you only have a certain amount in your wallet.
Try it for a month and see if it caps the money flow.

Today’s frugal tip is to spread the word that you are now saving money. You might be surprised at all your friends and family might do for you simply because they know this fact.
They might:
- Save cans and bottles for you to recycle and get $$ for
- Save their Sunday coupon packs for you
- Give you items to sell on Ebay or Craigslist.
- Save Boxtops for you to donate to your child’s school.
And this is only a small list. What have your friends and family done for you to help you save money?

I have a confession, over the last few years my enjoyment of shopping has really gone down. I step into a store these days and I am pretty much ready to leave as soon as I got there.
But shopping online is a different story.. getting good deals, saving money on gas and not having to leave the house? Good times!
I do a lot of shopping at Amazon.com because the prices are so great sometimes. I totally stock up on gluten free items when they come on sale- this way I am not running to the health food store all the time and paying top dollar.
Also make sure you always check for a coupon code at RetailMeNot.com or Ebates (plus with Ebates you get money back on those online purchases).

Today ‘s frugal tip is to start considering the store brand- especially if the name brand is not on sale or you don’t have a coupon. Why? Well, it could be cheaper and you may find you like it just as well or better.
Make sure you don’t assume that simply because it is a store brand that it is lower quality.
Remember- you don’t eat the label!!
